Hengqin International Commercial Mediation Center (hereinafter referred to as "HICMC") is a private non-enterprise unit jointly initiated by Zhuhai International Arbitration Court, Zhuhai Lawyers Association, China Chamber of International Commerce Zhuhai Chamber of Commerce, Hengqin Institute of Innovation and Development, and approved by the Social Affairs Bureau of Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin Work Office in Guangdong Provincial People's Government. The main responsibility is to resolve various domestic and international commercial disputes in more harmonious, efficient and convenient ways by the internationally accepted commercial mediation mechanism.

HICMC is now publicly selecting the second batch of mediators - the relevant details are announced as follows：

Article 1 Scope and Term of Appointment of the Second Batch of Mediators of HICMC

The selection of mediators is open to the world, the term of appointment of mediators is the same as that of the current Board of Directors.

Article 2 Selecting Qualifications for the First Batch of Mediators of HICMC

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Abide by the Constitution and laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China, and respect the legitimate rights and interests of the parties.

2. Be passionate about mediation, be honest and trustworthy, possess good moral character, fairness and impartiality, and comply with the provisions of HICMC’s Articles of Association, Rules of Mediation, etc.

3. Possess good professional ethics and no record of punishment due to poor reputation or violation of professional ethics.

4. Be in good health and able to ensure sufficient time to engage in the work of commercial mediation and positively promote commercial mediation.

5. Different professionals from different industries and fields who serve as mediators should have the following qualifications：

(a) At least 5 years’ experience of work.

(b) Be professionally trained and qualified (no less than 40 hours).

(c) Have completed a cumulative total of 5 mediation cases.

(d) Have more than 3 years of work experience as a commercial mediator.

Applicants must meet the above 1 to 5 qualification requirements to apply to become a mediator and be included in the panel of mediators of HICMC. The council of HICMC may waive one or more qualification requirements of Item 5, on a case-by-case basis, if the applicant's qualifications are particularly outstanding.

Article 3 Selection Process

1. Application

Applicants are required to fill out the “Application Form for HICMC Mediators” and submit relevant materials. The deadline for application is 5:00 PM on November 30, 2024 (Beijing Standard Time).

2. Assessment

HICMC will establish an assessment committee for the preliminary assessment of applicants, which will be reported to the Board of Directors of HICMC for discussion.
3. Deliberation

The Board of Directors of HICMC will deliberate the list of preliminary assessment, and confirm the final list.

4. Public Notice

The final list of the second batch of proposed mediators will be published on the official website and the WeChat official account of HICMC for a period of five days.

5. Appointment

After the public notice period, HICMC will issue letters of appointment to the selected mediators, provide them training and include them in the panel of mediators.

Article 4 Notice of Application

Applicants must complete the “Application Form for HICMC Mediators” form, which may be accessed either from the HICMC Official WeChat Account QR Code or on the HICMC Website, and should be downloaded and submitted, along with electronic copies (in WORD and PDF formats) of their ID card, academic qualifications, degree certificate, other qualification certificates and relevant materials, to the HICMC email at Hicmc_hq@163.com with “Name+Mediator Application” as the subject line. Materials submitted by unsuccessful candidates will not be returned.
